Update

Dear family and friends: He is doing much better now in the bowel mine field. He started feeling better late on Tuesday. Trying to hit the happy medium is tough. He did go to work yesterday and has to work in the shop fixing pumps. The shop is quite a distance from the bathroom in the office and he simply cannot sprint (as you can imagine). I think he should rent one of those portable toilets on wheels like they used to use at the spud cellars during harvest. A constant convenient bathroom. He could just leave it attached to his work pickup.

We are afraid the radiation is starting to affect his bladder too. They said the place the tumor is the radiation is hitting a little bit of his bladder . He probably would not like me telling all of you all of this. If you want off the e-mail list let me know and you can just go to Karalynn's blog and she posts the info there too and you can also see really cute pictures of baby Ben http://karalynnj.blogspot.com/ . Tomorrow he will be half way through his radiation and chemo. He will then have 3 to 6 weeks to heal. When he is done we contact Huntsman for the surgery. It will probably be the week of the 12th of April.

One of the side effects of the chemo is his hands being really sensitive to cold. He goes to the freezer and doesn't even think about it and grabs something. It immediately hurts and I hear whatever it is flying across the kitchen. He went to the freezer in the garage and said he was playing hot potato with himself and finally dropped it and got a towel. He also has some capillaries break on his skin wherever he is a little chapped like on his knuckles. We just slick him up with bag balm or vaseline and it gets better pretty quick. Other than that he has not had any other serious side effects yet. I know it is just blessings and answers to all of our prayers.

He is working today and is going to try to do soil samples. He has to ride a 4 wheeler out in fields so I think we will see how that works for him. Maybe we can have a good weekend. We thank our Father daily for all of your love, concern and prayers. Love, Jolene
