Update

Dear friends and family, We are off to SLC. We are nervous but he is anxious to get this phase over with. He has his pre-op on Monday and a colonoscopy on Monday (they have never been able to do one) and then the surgery will be on Tuesday. He will have his "last supper" tonight. They were feeling really bad for him to have to be on clear liquids for so long, 3 days, and we were thinking that was a piece of cake compared to the liver biopsy and the all the clear liquid for a week after the first attempted colonoscopy. How perspective changes. The prep for this colonoscopy is different than the last one partly because of the surgery but they sent a prescription to him to have filled before we leave so he went to the pharmacy the other day to get it. It is called something like half-litely or similar but they bring out this gallon (4 liter) jug with powder in the bottom. He just looked at the pharmacist and said "you have got to be kidding"!!! I am sure his eyes were as big as dollars. He couldn't stand to even leave it on the table in the kitchen. He had to move it out of sight. It does have little flavor packets with it so he can choose his flavor. :) We will be staying at the Kimball, thanks to some friends that gave us a week at no cost. (Thanks so much Harpers) He is supposed to be there for 5 to 7 days. Adam is going to come and stay for part of the time and Jennifer will also be there part of the time. I know he will be fine. He is very strong and is feeling well. He will be glad to have the tumor out and hopefully that will stop the pain he feels. He keeps telling me that if he complains about the iliostomy to remind him how miserable it has been being in a constant state of diarrhea. We continue to be very hopeful. We are so thankful for our faith in our Heavenly Father's plan and the power of prayer and blessings. We appreciate your love, concern and support.
