Ben Camping: June 11-13

Ben went on his very first camping trip that weekend. Mom, Dad, Adam, Kelly, and the kids met us at C.J. Strike for some fun. Adam and Kelly went to Mom and Dad's house on Thursday and helped them get the motorhome and boat ready so Dad didn't have to do so much work. Ben and I got Nick a cot for our anniversary/Father's day and we brought that for Dad to lay on outside. Afterwards, I asked Adam if he had fun. He said, "Besides the allergies, wind, and crappy fishing, it was a great time." And it really was. There were a few things that could have been better (refer to Adam's comment), but it was fun to just hang out and play. Nick and Adam took the kids fishing and they caught a couple, so it wasn't a total waste. And Ben absolutely LOVED playing with his cousins. Mom brought an umbrella stroller and Kelly brought this little car/scooter thing, and the kids pushed him around the campsite. He loves playing with other kids and he loves attention, so he was in heaven.





Nick definitely has a little friend in Michael. Wherever Nick was, Mikey was right behind him. As soon as they got back from fishing, he was asking when they were going again. They brought back a couple and Nick fileted them, and Mikey thought that was pretty cool.


Ben loves driving. Sometimes Nick will stand him up at the steering wheel when he parks the car in the garage, and he throws a fit when you peel him off. As you can see, he loved driving grandpa's boat.


I was VERY worried about Ben sleeping outside in a tent. What if it's too hot/too cold/too windy/blah blah. He did great. I think he was so worn out from playing all day that he slept like a rock. He liked getting up in the morning and cuddling with Dad while Mom made him a bottle.
